The Yoga 7a Gen 11 is the AMD sibling to Lenovo's 16-inch Intel convertible, and the chassis is effectively the same: an aluminium 360-degree hinge design, 1.74kg, 15.85mm thick, with a 16-inch 1920×1200 touchscreen, a 70Wh battery, four microphones and a 3.7MP IR webcam.
What differs is the silicon, and it differs meaningfully. The Ryzen AI 5 430 is a 4-core part — half the core count of the Core Ultra 5 226V in the Intel version — paired here with 16GB of LPDDR5X and a 2TB SSD, and driving Radeon 840M integrated graphics. In single-threaded work the gap is modest, but anything that scales across cores (compiling, video export, heavy multitasking) will be slower. On the other hand the AMD model ships with double the storage in this configuration, and AMD's integrated graphics are traditionally a little stronger than Intel's at the same tier.
The compromises otherwise mirror the Intel model. Memory is soldered at 16GB. The touchscreen is glossy and 60Hz. Tablet mode on a 1.74kg 16-inch device is awkward in practice — stand and tent modes are what you will actually use. Notably, this version has no Thunderbolt or USB4 on its USB-C ports, which the Intel model does have, so fast docking and external storage are more limited. Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, HDMI, one USB-A and an SD card reader complete the picture.
Buy it if you want a large convertible with long battery life and lots of storage, and your work is light and single-threaded. Skip it if you multitask heavily, need Thunderbolt docking, or want the faster chip — the Intel Yoga 7i Gen 10 is the direct upgrade.
