How the VS Score works — and what it can’t tell you

Every measurable spec is scored against the average of all the smartphones we track: matching the class average scores 50, clearly beating it climbs towards 100, and each spec counts according to an editorial weight that reflects real-world impact — a battery-capacity gap moves the score far more than a colour-options list. The quality bars on the spec cards above show where this model sits inside the full range for its class, and the overall VS Score rolls every weighted result into one number.

Unknown values are never estimated. A spec this product doesn’t report simply drops out of its scoring — it isn’t penalised with a guess — but a thinner spec sheet does mean a score built on fewer data points, which is why completeness is disclosed under About this data.

Most importantly: a spec-sheet lead is not the same as a better product. Megapixels, gigahertz and benchmark points describe capacity, not experience — image processing, software optimisation, thermals, haptics and ergonomics decide how a device actually feels, and no table captures reliability or long-term support quality. Treat the VS Score as a structured summary of what can be measured, not a substitute for your own priorities.

About this data

  • Specifications are compiled from each manufacturer’s official spec sheet, cross-checked against trusted specification databases, and normalised into one schema so identical things are compared identically.
  • Specifications last verified July 7, 2026.
  • Data completeness: 70 of the 99 specs in this category are verified (71%). Anything we could not verify is shown as Unknown — never estimated — and is excluded from the score.
  • Prices and availability come from live retailer feeds via our shopping partners and refresh throughout the day; a missing price means no partner currently lists the product, not that it is discontinued.
  • Want the full picture? Our editorial guidelines explain how we research products, weight the scores and stay independent.

  • A polished mid-range phone with a great display and dependable battery life
Jitaru Ciprian Verified July 15, 2026

I’ve been using the Samsung Galaxy A57 5G as my everyday phone for messaging, calls, browsing, photos, social media, video streaming, maps, and a bit of light gaming. Overall, it feels like a very polished mid-range phone, especially if you want a big screen, reliable battery life, and a clean Samsung experience without paying flagship prices.

The display is the strongest part for me. The 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen looks bright, sharp, and smooth, so watching videos, scrolling through apps, and reading online feels comfortable. It also feels more premium than many phones in this price range.

Battery life has been reliable too. With normal daily use, I can usually get through the day without worrying about charging. The phone also feels slim and easy to handle, even though it has a large screen.

The cameras are good for everyday use. Daylight photos look sharp and colorful, and the main camera with OIS helps when taking quick shots. However, low-light photos are still not flagship-level, and the macro camera feels less useful than the main and ultrawide cameras.

Performance is smooth for normal tasks. Apps open quickly, multitasking is fine, and the phone handles daily use without many slowdowns. However, I would not buy it mainly for heavy gaming or demanding video editing. It is fast enough for most people, but it is still a mid-range phone.

Overall, the Galaxy A57 5G is a strong choice if you care about display quality, battery life, durability, and long-term software support. It is not perfect, but it feels dependable, modern, and easy to recommend.

    Pros:

    Bright and smooth 6.7-inch display
    Reliable battery life
    Good main camera in daylight
    Slim and modern design
    IP68 water and dust resistance
    Long software support

    Cons:

    Low-light photos could be better
    Not ideal for heavy gaming
    Macro camera feels less useful
Price may feel high for a mid-range phone
    No true flagship-level performance

usse realistic ratings from 0.5 I don't want the same ratings on all

Da, corect. Pentru Galaxy A57 5G, aș folosi ratinguri mai naturale, nu toate 4/5.

    Title your review:

Great display and battery life, but the cameras still feel mid-range

    Your review:

I’ve been using the Samsung Galaxy A57 5G as my everyday phone for calls, messaging, browsing, social media, maps, photos, video streaming, and some light gaming. Overall, it feels like a well-balanced mid-range phone with a very good screen, strong battery life, and the familiar Samsung software experience.

The display is the highlight for me. It looks bright, sharp, and smooth, so scrolling through apps, watching videos, and reading online feels comfortable. It gives the phone a more premium feel than I expected in this price range.

Battery life has also been dependable. With normal use, I can usually get through a full day without worrying too much about charging. The build quality feels solid as well, although it still does not feel quite as premium as Samsung’s flagship phones.

Performance is good for daily use. Apps open quickly, multitasking is smooth enough, and I haven’t noticed major slowdowns in normal tasks. However, I would not buy this mainly for heavy gaming or demanding video editing. It is fast, but not flagship-fast.

The cameras are decent, especially in daylight. Photos look colorful and detailed enough for social media, and the main camera does a good job in simple conditions. However, low-light photos can look softer, and the extra cameras are not as impressive as the main one.

Overall, the Galaxy A57 5G is a smart choice if you want a reliable Samsung phone with a great display, good battery life, and long-term usability. It is not perfect, especially for camera-heavy users, but it gets most of the important things right.

    Pros
    • Bright and smooth display
    • Reliable battery life
    • Good daily performance
    • Solid build quality
    • Clean Samsung software experience
    • Good daylight photos
    Cons
    • Low-light camera quality could be better
    • Not ideal for heavy gaming
    • Extra cameras feel less useful
    • Charging could be faster
    • Not a huge upgrade if you already own a recent Galaxy A model
