The Predator Helios Neo 16 AI is Acer's mid-tier gaming 16-incher, and it is built around headroom rather than restraint. The configuration here pairs an Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX — a 20-core Arrow Lake HX chip — with an RTX 5070 Laptop GPU, 16GB of DDR5 and a 4TB SSD, and the range scales up through the 5070 Ti and 5080 to a 5090.
The practical parts are done sensibly. The 16-inch 1920×1200 IPS panel runs at 180Hz with full sRGB coverage, which suits fast-paced gaming better than a higher-resolution screen this GPU would struggle to feed; 2560×1600 IPS and OLED options exist if you want the pixels instead. Memory is upgradeable to 64GB, which is unusual and welcome at this level, and the port selection is complete: two USB-C with Thunderbolt, three USB-A, HDMI, an SD card reader and wired Ethernet.
The costs of that power are unavoidable. It weighs 2.66kg, is 26.75mm thick at the rear, and ships with a 330W power brick — this is a desk machine you move occasionally, not a laptop you carry daily. A 90Wh battery is generous but will not last long once the discrete GPU is awake, so expect to game plugged in.
