The Poco C81 is an entry-level phone at around €100, and it spends its budget on the two things budget buyers notice: screen smoothness and battery life. The 6.9-inch LCD runs at 120Hz, which makes scrolling feel far better than the 60Hz panels still common at this price, and the 6300mAh battery is genuinely large — two days of light use is realistic.

It also keeps the practical features that get stripped from more expensive phones. There is a dedicated microSD slot alongside the 64GB of storage, a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. Xiaomi promises up to four major Android upgrades from Android 16 with HyperOS 3, which is a longer commitment than budget phones usually get.

The compromises are substantial and you should read them carefully. This is a 4G-only phone — there is no 5G at all, which in 2026 is a real limitation on longevity. The screen is 720×1600, so about 254 pixels per inch across 6.9 inches: text and images look soft. There are 4GB of RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage, so app switching is slow and heavy apps will reload. The Unisoc T7250 is a modest 12nm chip. Charging is 15W, so refilling that big battery takes a long time. There is a single 13MP rear camera, no NFC for contactless payments, a mono speaker, and no gyroscope — which breaks some games and AR features.

Buy it as a first phone, a child's phone or a backup where battery life and price are everything. Skip it if you want 5G, contactless payments, a sharp screen or usable cameras — even a small budget increase changes all four.
