The Legion 5 Gen 10 is the practical sibling to Lenovo's OLED models: same platform, same RTX 5050 with 8GB, same 245W power budget, but a 15.1-inch 1920 x 1200 IPS panel with an anti-glare finish instead of a glossy high-resolution one. That swap is less exciting and, for a lot of players, more sensible.
The reasoning is straightforward. An RTX 5050 is an entry-tier current-generation GPU, and 1920 x 1200 is the resolution it is genuinely comfortable at. Feeding it a 2560 x 1600 panel means leaning on upscaling in most modern titles; feeding it 1200p means running at native resolution with settings turned up. The anti-glare coating also makes the machine far more usable in a bright room, which matters if it doubles as a work laptop.
It is the bulkier of the two at 1.9kg and just under 20mm, and the 80Wh battery has the same limitation as every gaming laptop — treat it as a portable desktop rather than something you use unplugged for long. There is no Thunderbolt or USB4, and this configuration drops the IR camera, so Windows Hello relies on the fingerprint reader.
As with its sibling, the 8GB of DDR5 in the base configuration is the thing to change. It is socketed and goes to 64GB.
Buy it if you want mid-range gaming performance at a sensible resolution, prefer a matte screen, and would rather put your money into RAM and storage than into a panel your GPU cannot fully exploit. Skip it if you want the best possible image quality, or if portability and battery life are high on your list.
